C&M’s wedding took place among the ancient ruins of Villa Adriana, a UNESCO World Heritage site and former imperial retreat of the Roman Emperor Hadrian. The choice of location reflected the couple’s long-standing connection to art, architecture and classical history.
The ceremony was held within the ruins of the villa. The floral design referenced the frescoes of the Villa of Livia, with a deliberately restrained approach that allowed the scale, materials and landscape of the site to lead.
Dinner and the after-party took place in the Grandi Terme, where the setting was carefully constructed to sit in dialogue with the ruins. Layered elements from table drapery and olive trees to custom flooring were selected to remain cohesive with the architecture while discreetly accommodating technical requirements. The table setting drew on Roman banquet references, introduced with contemporary detail, including apricots used as a subtle accent of colour.
As the evening progressed, the space transitioned into an after-party within the baths. A dessert table became the focal point, designed to feel sculptural and abundant rather than formal, bringing the celebration to a close within the ruins themselves.
